Pink Floyd - The Wall

“As a phenomenon and as a record and a show I am very proud of it. At the same time, I don’t agree with everything philosophically”
David Gilmour
It’ s a Pink Floyd album released in 1979, but when listening the songs you’ll notice that it’s not just an ordinary album.
Firstly I want to talk about the film. The film was shown in 1982 and directed by Alan Parker. It’ s about life of an imaginary character, rockstar Pink. There’ re songs from the album playing at the background and there’ s not much dialogue. So you may not understand anything if you listen to the album for several times, first.
The Wall is one of the best albums which have been made ever, according to me. Roger Waters shares his feelings openly with us.
When you listen to it carefully you’ ll notice that in the beginning of the first song he whispers: “…where we came in” and in the end of the last song he whispers: “isn’ t this…” with same melody at the backgorund. So it is connected as “isn’t this where we came in”.
“The wall” is used here to explain the abstraction of a person.
