evanescence: a dissipation of diseappearance like vapor
If you have seen “Daredevil”, you’ ll remember the song playing at the background of the scene that while Elektra is cutting the sandbags into pieces. It’s name is “Bring me to life”. And the band’ s name is “Evanescence”.
The band members are from Arkansas. Obviously, Evanescence has a special place in rock bands with great voice of Amy Lee.
Singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist/songwriter Ben Moody formed the band at the end of the ’90s after meeting in their early teens during a “youth camp” Moody said in a statement: “I heard Amy playing Meat Loaf’ s ‘I’ d Do Anything for Love’ at the piano. So I went over to meet her, and she started singing for me. I was pretty much blown away, so I suckered her into joining a band with me.”
They were known with their first EP they released. The second EP “Whisper” and “Origin” , the first album in 2000 followed it. However, they want to forget this album as if it has never been made. So that “Fallen” is shown as the first album in some sites.
The band had a great success and had lots of fans with “Fallen” album. It sold 600.000 and reached the top tens. Mostly the songs in the album were about love, helplessness and dark feelings.
Ben Muddy left the group during a European tour. That was a big loss for the band and made lots of fans sad. For some people Evanescence is: before Muddy and after Muddy. After that ex-Cold guitarist Terry Balsamo replaced him and the band continued the tour.
The live album “Anywhere but Home” including Paris concert videos was released in November 2004. After 2 years the album, “The Open Door” was released in 2006. Tim McCord (ex-the Revolution Smile) joined up in Boyd’s place that August.
