Michael Peter Balzary (Flea)

Michael Peter Balzary -Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist- is mostly known by his nickname, Flea. He’ s a great bass player. I don’ t know if I would listen Red Hot Chili Peppers without Flea. He generally plays funk and punk styles. In the past he also played jazz. The most I like about Flea is his creativity. I can give lots of examples that show his creativity. Californication, soul to squeeze, by the way are just a few songs that I remember now.
Another thing I like about Flea is he can play different versions of a bass partition in live performances. I listen the bass but I hear very different bass melody and think he doesn’ t play like that in the album and I get surprised that how he can make great variations on bass melody.
The effects that he uses are:
Boss ODB-3 Bass Overdrive
MXR Micro Amp (booster)
Electro Harmonix Q-Tron (envelope filter)
Dunlop 105Q Bass Wah
